Train Leaving Southwater Station

The station and railway were an integral part of the former Southwater brickworks.  The railway supported the delivery of twenty – ton coal wagons for the kilns and wagons full of bricks were taken away from sidings. This photo shows a siding that went into the brickworks.  The train is leaving Southwater Station in 1950 and is travelling towards Shoreham.
