‘SOUTHWATER’ Goods Yard Tank Engine
In 1905, tank engine liveries and names were changed to to show their company’s initials, so SOUTHWATER would have been replaced with LB&SCR. In 1931, Southern Railway renumbered the engine as 2162. In 1943, ‘SOUTHWATER’ was shunting at Eastleigh and Southampton Works and in 1948 at the Basingstoke Works. In November 1949, ‘SOUTHWATER’ was withdrawn from service and scrapped in 1951.
